Empowerment. Solidarity. Sisterhood.
This July, I am celebrating my birthday with a purpose. I’m running to reclaim the narrative around Black women’s reproductive health.
For too long, conditions like fibroids, endometriosis, PCOS, and the heartbreak of miscarriage have been suffered in silence – and too often met with medical dismissal. It is time to change that.
In partnership with We Are Black Journos, I invite you to walk, jog, or run 5k with me in solidarity with Black women everywhere who have navigated these journeys.
Bridging the Gap: Men’s Health
Because our community is interconnected, I am also fundraising for men’s health to raise vital awareness for prostate issues. Looking out for one another means caring for all of us.
What We Are Fundraising For:
Your support will directly fund actionable, life-changing resources:
• Specialist Consultations: Dedicated support sessions for both women and men navigating these specific health challenges.
• Community & Support: Interactive focus groups, educational materials, and ongoing care networks for those affected.
From the moment you donate, you will be kept in the loop with updates of how you are actively helping.
Wherever you are, I would love for you to run, walk, or jog your 5k in solidarity. Please snap a selfie during or after your run – ideally on the day! – and send it over to Hannah or tag @weareblackjournos + @hannah_ajala on Instagram. It would absolutely mean the world and keep us all connected!
Let’s move together, heal together, and look out for each other. See you at the starting line!
